Coming to a French table near you — and to KRVS weekdays from 5-7 a.m — it’s Colby LeJeune, the new host of Bonjour Louisiane. He’s a native of LeJeune Cove just outside Iota and a member of the Cajun Prairie Habitat Preservation Society. If you’re in Lafayette, you may spot Colby playing t’fer (triangle) at jam sessions or working at the Vermilionville living history and folklife park. His commitment to Louisiana French runs deep — he studied geology and linguistics at Tulane and he’s pursuing a master’s degree in French at UL Lafayette.
“I want to express my gratitude for being given this opportunity,” he said. “We’re going to laissez les bons temps rouler every morning. We’re also going to be learning a thing or two about the music, about the language, about the culture, and about our history, and also about aspects of our natural heritage here in Louisiana.”
