Check up on you or your partner’s physical health. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, students can get free rapid HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis C tests.
Shut Up & Sing Karaoke | Chelsea’s Live
At 8 p.m. until 2 a.m. Chelsea’s Live will host their weekly karaoke night. Entry is free from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. After 9 p.m., tickets are only $5 and can be purchased at the box office. Come out for great music and drink specials.
Astronomy on Tap | Varsity Theatre
Astronomy on Tap in Baton Rouge is offering two free talks this Wednesday at the Varsity Theatre from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The first talk will delve into the science on the rare, upcoming solar eclipse on April 8. The second talk will discuss growing plants on Mars.

Red Stick Farmers Market | Pennington Biomedical Research Center
The Red Stick Farmers Market is the perfect place to support local businesses and get plants, fresh groceries, baked goods and more. From cheddar bomb cheese bread to goats milk soap, this Thursday market has a lot of unique treats that aren’t available at typical grocery stores. The market runs from 8 a.m. to noon.

Black Women’s Biopics Film Screening | Hill Memorial Library Lecture Hall
Presented by The Storytellers Lab, a research group founded by Dr. Asha Winfield, a showing of the Aretha Franklin biopic Respect will be shown in Hill Memorial Library from 5:30–9 p.m. Following the movie, there will be a discussion with special guests about the film and the importance of celebrating the lives of Black women.
Dietitians Eat Donuts | Free Speech Alley
As a part of Tiger Wellness Week, on-campus registered dietitians will be in Free Speech Alley from 10 a.m. to noon with donuts. The dietitians will be discussing how to form healthy relationships with food, and how even dietitians eat donuts.

Movies & Music on the Lawn | The Baton Rouge Gallery Lawn
Bring your friends, a quilt and some bug spray down to the lawn behind Baton Rouge Gallery Saturday night at 8 p.m. The gallery will show the silent film “Metropolis” on an inflatable screen and Baton Rouge musician OTTO will compose the score live. There is no price to attend and popcorn is provided.
Louisiana Red Beans & Rice Heritage and Music Festival | Galvez Plaza
Come out to Galvez Plaza in Downtown Baton Rouge to celebrate one of Louisiana’s most famous cultural dishes: red beans and rice. Festivities will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will include a cooking competition and live music performances. Participants can taste and vote on food from the competing cooks if they purchase a VIP ticket here.
Spring Garden Fest | LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens
The Spring Garden Fest will feature a series of four, free gardening lectures from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on everything from succulents to composting. The event will also include separate pop-up plant markets hosted by EBR Master Gardeners and the Botanic Gardens. Attendees can browse at garden information booths and vendor tables, and everything is free and open to the public.

International Taste Fair | Main Library at Goodwood
At the Main Library at Goodwood on Sunday at 3 p.m., the Baton Rouge Delta Alumnae Chapter is hosting an international cuisine tasting. Attendees will be able to taste dishes from tables representing different countries. The event is free and celebrity chef Vallery Lomas, a winner of The Great American Baking Show and a Baton Rouge native, will make an appearance.
