Angel Reese was selected by the Chicago Sky with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft Monday night.
The WNBA Draft took place in Brooklyn, New York, where Reese was in attendance.
She declared for the draft on April 3, forgoing her final year of collegiate eligibility, and made the announcement shortly after LSU’s loss to Iowa in the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament.
This past season, Reese averaged 18.6 points per game and 13.4 rebounds per game, which was the second most in the country. In her collegiate career, which consisted of two seasons at Maryland and two seasons at LSU, she averaged 18.6 points per game and 12.3 rebounds per game.
Reese was awarded SEC Player of the Year this past season and was a First Team All-SEC selection.
Her most dominant season came in the 2022-23 season, where she played a major role in the Tigers’ national championship run. She averaged 23 points per game and 15.4 rebounds per game.
Reese broke both the LSU record and the Southeastern Conference record for most consecutive double-double performances. The LSU record was previously set by Sylvia Fowles, and Reese surpassed her with 23 consecutive double-doubles.
Reese ended the season with 34 double-doubles, was a First-Team All-American and the Final Four’s Most Valuable Player.
After LSU’s national championship, Reese won an ESPY for Best Breakthrough Athlete, and has since signed Name, Image and Likeness deals with Reebok, PlayStation, Amazon and more.
