Today Beans and Silversun highlight JAPAN!! Specifically Japan’s diverse variety of musical genres and styles. The first part of today’s show features music of the Shibuya Kei genre, an aesthetic and genre of pop music which took place in Japan in the mid-late 90’s that is marked by its combination of pop, jazz, and dance music. We featured some artists that mark this micro genre, including Kahimi Karie, Cornelius, and many more. The 2nd part of today’s show dove into the wonderful and large realm of Japanese jazz-fusion, which new artists to PANGEA such as Minoru Muraoka and Kiro Inagaki & His Soul Media.
