St. Anthony of Padua and Le Van Phung Catholic Church in Baton Rouge celebrated Lunar New Year by throwing a huge two-day festival every year. This year, parishioners and visitors experienced performances from fellow parishioners, Vietnamese celebrities and a Southern Lotus Lion Dance Association dance.
Lunar New Year, known as Tết in Vietnamese, marks the beginning of the new year following the lunar calendar, a tradition held by many Asian cultures since the beginnings of Buddhism.
