On Thursday, the Harlem Globetrotters announced, via their Instagram, that former LSU women’s basketball player, Alexis Morris will be joining the team.
Morris will make her debut with the team on Friday, Feb. 9, at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. She becomes the seventh woman to join the team, the most in Globetrotters’ history.
Morris was a part of the 2023 National Champion team, where in her fifth-year senior season, she averaged 15.4 points per game, 2.9 rebounds per game, and 4.1 assists per game.
She was a fan favorite during the team’s national championship run, as she went by the nickname, “Lex Luthor.”
Morris was drafted in the second round of the WNBA draft by the Connecticut Sun. After being waived by the Sun, she took her career to overseas, and she started the current season in Turkey with Ilkem Yapi Tarsus of the Turkish women’s Super League.
The Texas-native will also take stops to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and Madison Square Garden in Manhattan later in February.
