LSU football continued the overhaul of its Wednesday, hiring Texas defensive line coach Bo Davis, the school announced.
Davis spent the last three seasons at Texas, but also coached defensive line for the Detroit Lions, UTSA and Alabama. He also played at LSU from 1990-1992 and began his coaching career in Baton Rouge as graduate assistant in 1995.
Davis replaces former LSU defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey who spent one season at LSU, but never coached on the field due to an undisclosed medical emergency prior to the season.
Davis has been a part of two national championship teams as a coach, including LSU’s 2003 national championship as assistant strength and conditioning coach. His second came as Alabama’s defensive line coach in 2009.
