Restaurant Week is a week-long event where participating local restaurants offer discounted three-course menu meals. Beth Cavener Talk | LSU School of Art
Internationally renowned artists, Beth Cavener, will be coming to the LSU School of Art to discuss her work, pop-surrealism and Baton Rouge Gallery’s latest installment, Surreal Salon 16. Cavener is serving as the special guest juror for this exhibition that features the work of pop-surrealist artists. The talk will begin at 5 p.m.
BREC’s Fifth Annual Swamp Art Spectacular | Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center
BREC’s Swamp Art Spectacular will feature the work of local artists in fields like fabric arts, fine arts and photography. The theme of the show is “Impressions of Louisiana Nature” and anyone is invited to vote on their favorite piece in both the adult and youth categories. The event will last from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. at 10503 N. Oak Hills Parkway.

Insect Colors on Parade | LSU Science Cafe
Air Force entomologist Nathan Lord will be coming to LSU to showcase how insects see color and use it to communicate. Lord will be discussing how humans are using this information to advance the technology of signals and sensors, even in the Air Force. This event will begin at 5 p.m. and you can register here.
Video Games with East Baton Rouge Parish Library | LSU Library Lobby
Take a break from the beginning of the semester stress by joining LSU Libraries in playing video games with the “20-something librarians” of East Baton Rouge Parish Library. This event will last from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. in the LSU Library Lobby.

LSU Student Union 60th Anniversary Celebration | LSU Parade Ground
LSU will be celebrating the Student Union’s 60th anniversary with a time capsule dedication ceremony with Mike the Tiger and the Spirit Squad in addition to a night of performances from local bands. T-shirts and food will be given out to students, and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to sit and enjoy the music on. The event will last from 4:30 p.m.–8 p.m.
Queen’s of Louisiana presents Taylor Swift Trivia Series | Tap65
Queens of Louisiana and AK Swifties are hosting a Taylor Swift Trivia Series event for all the Swifties at Tap65. They will quiz players on their knowledge of Taylor Swift as drag queens put on Swift-inspired performances. Taylor Swift themed cocktails as well as Indian inspired food will be available for purchase. The event is from 7–9 p.m. at 515 Mouton St. Suite 103. Entry is free and trivia seating is first come first serve.

LSU World Languages Classics Movie Night Presents the Curse of the Faceless Man | Coates Hall
LSU World Languages will be hosting a movie night showing “The Curse of the Faceless Man” about a Roman gladiator who was burned alive in Pompeii and returns back to life in modern time to find the woman he loves. The movie will begin at 6 p.m. in Coates Hall Room 152 and pizza will be available.
Imagining Rachel | HopKins Black Box Theatre
Elise Robertson, a Los Angeles performer, will be giving a solo performance based on the life and work of environmentalist Rachel Carson. Robertson will be using puppets and other objects to tell a coming-of-age story while also exploring a life’s work of environmental activism. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. and you can register here.

Krewe of Artemis | Downtown Baton Rouge
The first and only all-female krewe in Baton Rouge, the Krewe of Artemis will be rolling in downtown Baton Rouge at 7 p.m. Join the Krewe for a Mardi Gras celebration, and maybe even catch one of its signature high heel shoe throws. More information and a parade map can be found here.
Disco Disco Disco | Chelsea’s Live
Chelsea’s Live is hosting another disco night with throwback songs you can dance to all night long. Throw on your gogo boots and make your way to the dance floor. The event starts at 10 p.m. at 1010 Nicholson Drive. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.

LSU alumna Chelsey Geeting will be performing alongside guest Matt Morgan and LSU Professor Robert Grayson in the Music Building’s Recital Hall at 4 p.m. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
King Cake With the Queens | Eloise Market and Cakery
Eloise Market is hosting another installment of King Cake With the Queens where participants can take a king cake-making class while playing drag bingo. Queens of Louisiana drag queens Tara Royal and Penny Lou will be hosting the event that lasts from 9–11 a.m. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased here.
