LSU baseball is ranked No. 4 in the D1 preseason poll released Tuesday, following No. 1 Wake Forest, No. 2 Florida and No. 3 Arkansas.
LSU is set to play 19 total games against ranked opponents in the regular season this spring.
Other SEC schools in the top 25 include No. 6 Vanderbilt, No. 8 Texas A&M, No. 9 Tennessee, No. 19 Alabama and No. 25 South Carolina.
The Tigers had 13 players drafted in the 2023 MLB draft following their National Championship season. Notable returners for LSU include 2023 All-American third baseman Tommy White, 2023 Freshman All American first baseman Jared Jones, and senior catchers Alex Milazzo and Hayden Travinski.
On the mound, LSU remains stacked with returners Thatcher Hurd, Nate Ackenhausen, Gavin Guidry, and Griffin Herring.
LSU also added more talent through the transfer portal, including outfielder Mac Bingham, shortstop Michael Braswell III and pitcher Luke Holman.
LSU’s season is set to begin Friday, Feb. 16, where the Tigers will host the Virginia Military Institute at Alex Box Stadium.
