Geoffrey Beene: A Closer Look | LSU Museum of Art
Dr. Michael Mamp, Director and Curator of the LSU Textile and Costume Museum, will host a free gallery talk that delves into the history of Louisiana designer Geoffrey Beene. from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the fifth floor of the Shaw Center on Thursday. The exhibit on Geoffrey Beene will remain at the museum until June 23, 2024.
Silversun Pickups Concert | Chelsea’s Live
Alternative rock band, Silversun Pickups, are stopping by Chealsea’s Live on their 2024 tour of their newest album Physical Thrills. This Los Angeles based band has over 1 million monthly listeners on spotify. Wow! That’s pretty big to be coming to Baton Rouge… If you like bands like Metric, Modest Mouse and Death Cab for Cutie, it’s worth checking them out. A few of the food trucks participating are Capitol Seafood, Louisiana Lemonade, Ninja Snowballs and Elisa’s Cuban Coffee & Kitchen. Pretty Girl Pop Up Shop | Main Street
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 1747 Main St. the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Nu Gamma Omega Chapter will host a pop up shop extravaganza in support of small businesses. The market will include food vendors, local boutiques, shoes, accessories, clothing, health care and many more booths to interest all ages and demographics. The market is part of the Sorority’s Build Our Economic Wealth Initiative, and the proceeds will support their youth scholarships.
Annual Juneteenth Celebration | Gus Young Park

Karen Waldrup Performance | Manship Theatre
Karen Waldrup, a contestant on The Voice in 2024, is coming to the Shaw Center to tour her 2023 album Kendall Country Road. Waldrup was named 2023 Top 5 Artist to Watch by Country Evolution, so you should all come out and watch her! The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $24 plus fees and can be purchased here.
