World AIDS Day: A Walk to Remember and Recommit
Open Health Care Clinic will be hosting a walk in commemoration of 35 years of continuous progress in the fight against HIV/AIDS and the challenges yet to be overcome. The event is at 5 p.m. at 3801 North Boulevard and is free to the public.
2023 Really Really New Music Marathon
This continued variety of student-composed and produced pieces will be hosted in the LSU Recital Hall from 3 to 9 p.m. This event is free to the public and is a collaboration between the Experimental Music & Digital Media and Composition disciplines within the LSU School of Music.

LSU Symphonic Winds: Journeys and Destinations
The LSU Symphonic Winds cordially invites you to an evening of music highlighting the work of notable conductors such as Dimitri Kabalevsky and Micheal Daughtery. The performance will be at the Union Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at https://lsuuniontheater.universitytickets.com/.
Book of Mormon
Nine-time Tony winning musical, Book of Mormon, will be performed at the Raising Cane’s River Center. The show begins at 7:30 p.m., and tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster. Note that the River Center has a clear bag policy in place.

Journey of Hope: The Louisiana Orphan Train Story
Capitol Park Museum presents “Journey of Hope,” an enlightening lecture on the story of numerous children who were sent to Louisiana to escape poverty, disease, and child labor from 1854 to 1929. The lecture begins at noon and is free to the public. Capitol Park Museum is located at 660 North Fourth Street.
Exceed and Other Card Games
Local gaming shop Little Wars will be hosting a card game night from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Come out to meet a fun group to play various games with. Little Wars is located at 7543 Jefferson Highway.

LSU Candlelight Concert
The LSU School of Music will be bringing in the holiday season with its annual Candlelight Concert. Join the LSU Acapella Choir, LSU Tiger Glee Club and LSU Chorale for an evening of holiday classics and spirituals. Old 97’s: Holiday Hoopla
Dallas-based, alt-country group Old 97’s will have a holiday-themed performance at Chelsea’s Live. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at www.chelseaslive.com.

CPKC Holiday Train’s Stop in Baton Rouge
The Holiday Express train is returning to Baton Rouge for its annual visit. Come out from 4 to 8 p.m. to meet Santa Claus and explore the festively decorated train cars. The railway stop is located at Government Street and South 15 Street and is free to the public.
Festival of Lights
Baton Rouge’s oldest holiday tradition is back for another year in North Boulevard Town Square. Enjoy free ice skating, fireworks on the Mississippi River and a tree light courtesy of Mayor Sharon Weston Broome. The event will be from 4 to 8 p.m.

A Very Merry Museum
The Louisiana Art & Science Museum will be hosting its 4th annual “A Very Merry Museum” event to ring in the holiday season. Holiday-themed showings in the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium, hands-on activities and a visit from Santa and a Coca-Cola truck are sure to make for a memorable day. The event is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and all the activities listed are included in general admission.
Red Stick Farmers Market
Red Stick Farmers Market is hosting another installation at Main Street Market in downtown Baton Rouge from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The open-air market will also be featuring the Baton Rouge Arts Market, where you can purchase work from local artists. This market is located at the corner of 5th Street and Main Street.

LSU Rural Life Christmas is hosting a day of 19th century-based holiday activities. Artisans, storytellers and performers will set the mood through an array of reenactments, and the day will conclude with a bonfire. Beer Garden Pop-Up Market
Mid City Beer Garden will be having its 3rd annual pop-up market with 16 new, unique vendors this year. Come out to purchase novelty gifts from local artisans, enjoy some brunch or bring the kids to the art booth catered to them. This event is free to the public and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
