Peter Kolkay at the School of Music
Bassoon artist and pedagogue Peter Kolkay of Vanderbilt University will travel to LSU to perform some new works by contemporary composers. The performance is at the Recital Hall in the Music Building at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
LSU Men’s Basketball “Boo Up” Exhibition Game
The LSU Men’s Basketball will host a game against Louisiana Christian Wildcats Men’s Basketball in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the game begins at 7 p.m. There will be candy for the kids, a halftime Halloween contest and a post-game autograph signing. Admission is free to the public and LSU students.

Boo With the Krewe Festival
Phi Gamma Sigma Youth presents Boo with the Krewe Festival: a free Halloween festival with carnival activities and family-friendly entertainment. The festival will be located in the “V” section between Scotland Avenue and Scenic Highway from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Admission is free.

First Wednesday Opening Reception at Baton Rouge Gallery
Baton Rouge Gallery will be hosting its monthly first Wednesday opening reception for its most recent exhibit, featuring the works of local and regional artists. The reception is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This event is open to the public and free of charge.

Orchestra at the River Center
Maestro Adam Johnson will lead the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra in the performance of classics by Beethoven and Rachmaninoff. The performance starts at 7:30 p.m. and features a Baton Rouge premiere of Carlos Simon’s “Breathe”. Tickets start at $19 and can be purchased at brso.org.
Community Bike Ride with Geaux Ride
Geaux Ride will be hosting its weekly installment of a bike ride through the historic downtown district. The meeting location is their headquarters on 521 North Third Street. Meet at 7 p.m., and the ride begins at 7:45 p.m. You can bring your own bike or rent one from Geaux Ride for $25.

“Roe” at Reilly Theatre

Daft Punk Night at Chelsea’s Live

Public Session at Skate Galaxy
Skate Galaxy will host a mixed music public session from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Come out for an afternoon of skating and fun. Admission is $8, skate rental is $4, and food can be purchased inside the skating rink.
Gem, Amethyst, Rock and Fossil Sale
The Baton Rouge Marriot at 5500 Hilton Avenue will be hosting various vendors selling varieties of gems, amethysts, rocks, and/or fossils. The sale is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thousands of specimens from around the world will be sold. Parking is free, and cash is the preferred payment method, though a credit card is accepted.
