The fanfare surrounding LSU women’s basketball took another leap as the school announced Sunday that rapper Lil Wayne will perform at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Nov. 15.
Tickets for the concert go on sale Tuesday at 10 a.m. and are available for purchase on lsusports.net.
Lil Wayne will be joined by fellow rapper Latto, and the concert is “celebrating the Lady Tigers’ national championship,” according to the flyer posted on LSU women’s basketball’s X (formerly twitter) account.
Lil Wayne, a New Orleans native, was a vocal supporter of the LSU women’s basketball team during its championship run last season. He even discussed a collaboration with LSU guard Flau’jae Johnson, though the song has not yet been released.
Latto has also connected herself with LSU women’s basketball in the past. Most notably, LSU star Angel Reese made a cameo appearance in the music video for Latto and Cardi B’s song, “Put it on da floor again.”
