LSU football is heading back to Florida for a bowl game, but in a different location this time. The Tigers will travel to Tampa to take on Wisconsin in the ReliaQuest Bowl on Jan. 1, the team announced on X (formerly twitter). The news was first reported by The Advocate.
It’s the first time LSU has played Wisconsin since its season-opening loss to the Badgers in 2016. That came just two games before then head coach Les Miles was fired.
Wisconsin finished the season 7-5 and third in the Big 10 West. This was the program’s first season under new head coach Luke Fickell, who previously was the head coach at Cincinnati from 2017-2022.
With a win, LSU can clinch back-to-back 10-win seasons for the first time since 2018-2019.
