The LSU men’s basketball team earned a No. 9 seed in the East Region and will play in the second round of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the NCAA announced Sunday night.
It’s the first time in six years the Tigers have made the NCAA Tournament.
LSU (22-10) will tip off against No. 8 seed N.C. State (20-13) at 8:20 p.m. on Thursday in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Wolfpack lost in the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament quarterfinals to Duke, 77-51, last Thursday.
The winner between the Tigers and N.C. State will face the victor of No. 1 seed Villanova (32-2) and No. 16 Lafayette (20-12).
