The LSU women’s basketball team blew out No. 12 Texas A&M, 80-63, to close the regular season with an upset on Sunday afternoon in the PMAC.
It was the second matchup between LSU (16-12, 10-6 Southeastern Conference) and Texas A&M (22-8, 10-6 SEC) this season. The Aggies won the first matchup, 55-48, on Jan. 11.
Senior guard DaShawn Harden had a career day as she scored a career-high 28 points.
It was a big victory for LSU, which had lost its previous two games and appeared to be on the bubble for a bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Lady Tigers clinched the fourth seed in the SEC Tournament with the win on Sunday and will receive a double bye in this week’s tournament, which begins March 4.
It was also senior day for the Lady Tigers, which marked the last time Harden and forward Sheila Boykin suited up for LSU at home.
