The second ranked LSU Gymnastics team exploded on senior night for a program best 198.375, and once again smashed the program attendance record with over 13,000 fans on hand. The Tigers’ “Big 3” of seniors Jessie Jordan, Rheagan Courville, and Lloimincia Hall all earned “Perfect 10’s” on senior night
“Sometimes senior night can blow up in your face, because there’s so much emotion, there’s so much last time emotion,” said head coach D-D Breaux. “But they handled it really well.”
It was the first time since 2004 that LSU earned three “Perfect 10’s” in one meet. The Tigers also shattered the program record on vault. Lloimincia Hall capped off the storybook evening with her sixth “Perfect 10” of her career, and 29th career floor title. But even with all of the accolades and ceremonies, Courville and the Tigers know that they are not done yet.
“It was more exciting because the season is not over, and we want to add to that list of accomplishments, and things as a team that we havent done yet that we really want to do,” said senior Rheagan Courville. “We mean business this year, we want everybody to believe it with us, and follow us and be as excited as we are.”
LSU’s dream season continues next week as the Tigers travel north to Shreveport to face Centenary and New Hampshire before preparing for the SEC Championships in Georgia.
“The community to realizes that these are Fighting Tigers, and they think they’re at a football game,” said Breaux. “That is so cool, and like Rheagan said, we mean business. We’re not kidding. We go in the gym every day and we talk about our goals and what we want to do.”
