Statement from Acacia National organization:
”Acacia Fraternity announces the closing of its Louisiana State University Chapter, related to violations of Acacia Fraternity’s standards and policies, specifically related to treatment of new members. The findings of an internal investigation raised serious concern regarding congruence with Acacia’s values, membership education programs, and Ritual. Following a March 17 visit by Acacia’s Executive Director Patrick McGovern, it was determined that chapter rehabilitation might not be a possibility, and that the chapter and community might best be served by a removal of the active chapter from campus.
In accordance with this conclusion, Acacia’s International Council revoked the LSU chapter’s charter this week. Acacia Fraternity looks forward to returning to Louisiana State in the future with a membership that is a positive asset to the community.”
