LSU senior infielder Conner Hale has been named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Hale, who played third base during the Houston College Classic last weekend after splitting time at first and second for most of the season, batted .400 (4-for-10) and registered a double, a two-run home run and five RBIs during the No. 1 Tigers’ three-game sweep this weekend.
Hale also produced a double, a triple and two RBIs in wins against Stephen F. Austin and Grambling State last week.
For the season, Hale is batting .338 for a team-high 22 hits. Hale has recorded a hit in all 16 games this year, one off the LSU record for longest hitting streak to start a season.
The Florida native has also hit six doubles and driven in 15 RBIs.
