The undefeated LSU softball team moved up in the NFCA rankings Tuesday, tying Michigan for the No. 3 spot.
The Tigers’ (25-0, 3-0 Southeastern Conference) ascendance in the latest poll comes after their SEC-opening sweep of Arkansas at Tiger Park during the weekend. The Tigers outscored the Razorbacks (12-10, 0-3 SEC) 23-1 across the three games, with the lone Arkansas run recorded as unearned.
The weekend sweep saw the Tigers perfect start stretch to 25 games. The 25-game win streak is the second longest streak for any sport in LSU history, second only to the 26-game win streak the LSU men’s basketball team recorded during the 1980-81 season.
LSU travels to play fellow unbeaten No. 1 Florida (27-0) this weekend in a three-game series.
