LSU has established the Brossette Family Fund to aid incoming running back Nick Brossette after the unexpected death of his brother, Mendel Esnault.
According to a news release, Esnault was the sole provider of income for the Brossette family. Brossette’s mother, Rita, has been battling cancer since 2013 and is unable to work. The University High standout currently lives at home with a younger brother.
The fund will assist the family with daily expenses as well as the cost of the funeral, according to the release. NCAA rules permit that LSU can “accept financial gifts and manage an account to assist the Brossette family.” NCAA rules state any and all contributions must go to this fund.
Those interested in contributing can visit www.lsutaf.org, according to the release.
