The bodies of two LSU students were found in the pool of the Cambridge West Apartments, an apartment complex just outside of Tigerland.
Police arrived on the scene at 1 a.m. Sunday and found the bodies of Anton Joe, 25, and Ishita Maity, 28, unresponsive at the bottom of the apartment’s pool.
The two were brought to the hospital and were announced dead Sunday afternoon.
Both students worked in LSU’s Department of Physics and Astronomy. Joe lived at the Cambridge West Apartments.
The Baton Rouge Police believe the gate to the pool was locked and the two jumped the fence to get inside.
Police are still investigating, but they do not believe there was any foul play.
