The LSU volleyball team has hired Ethan Pheister as its new assistant coach, the team announced Monday in a press release.
Pheister graduated from Ball State in 2010, where he was a three-time all-conference selection as a setter. He racked up the fourth-most assists in program history with 4,103 assists and 11.21 assists per set.
Pheister spent two seasons at Cincinnati before working as a volunteer coach with Arkansas in 2012. He then moved on to Duquesne, where he served as head coach for two successful seasons. The Dukes reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history during Pheister’s first season at the helm.
“Ethan will be a great addition to our staff and to our department, and he will have a huge impact in the gym,” said LSU coach Fran Flory in the news release. “He is a diligent worker who will handle a wide variety of responsibilities. Our players will benefit from his passion and enthusiasm for our sport.”
