After tallying 13 runs in its first two games of the Tiger Classic on Friday, the No. 19 LSU softball team’s offense continued to roll in a 10-0 victory in five innings against Tennessee State.
In the first game of its Saturday double-header, LSU (3-0) bombarded Tennessee State (0-4) with seven runs on six hits in the bottom of the 1st inning. For the second time in the Classic, LSU scored more than six runs in a single inning.
Seven different LSU players tallied a run. Junior shortstop Bianka Bell, sophomore infielder Sahvanna Jaquish and junior infielder Sandra Simmons scored two runs apiece.
Bell continued her hot start to the season, earning two hits in her three at-bats. In the 1st inning, Bell tallied her fifth RBI in three games.
Sophomore pitcher Kelsee Selman finished with seven strikeouts and no walks in five innings of work.
