The Louisiana-based television show “Duck Dynasty” may be filled with camouflage and mud, but Sadie Robertson is adding her feminine flare to the casual southern style.
The daughter of “Duck Dynasty” stars Willie and Korie Robertson came to the Mall of Louisiana on Nov. 21 to endorse her new collaboration with Wild Blue at rue21.
Stepping out of the shadow as the “Duck Dynasty” daughter, Sadie is making her name known. She recently competed on “Dancing with the Stars” finishing in second place, published her book “Live Original” and has a boot line with Roma Boots at Nordstrom.
Now, Sadie is pairing up with Los Angeles-based clothing line Wild Blue to endorse the holiday and spring lookbooks. The clothing line consists of denim and tops, all under $40.
The current denim line features a wide range of styles from skinny high waist to boot cut with a few holes. They can be found on the rue21 website and in stores.
Sadie said when picking out the denim, she incorporated her own style and what she liked. She said she lives by three C’s when choosing clothes: Comfy, cute, cool.
The reality TV star wore a pair to the event and pointed out how the high-waist fit of the denim works on anyone.
“Sometimes skinny jeans can be too tight to where you can’t breathe,” Sadie said, “These aren’t. They fit like just perfectly and they’re stretchy.”
Sadie’s fans who came to the meet-and-greet were not only excited to meet the young star, but also to try out the new clothing line.
“We heard about it through Twitter and Instagram and knew we had to come,” Nicole Jones said, “She always just posts really cute things from the Bible or life, so I make sure to follow her on Instagram.”
Sadie isn’t the only one in the family involved in fashion. Her sister Rebecca Robertson graduated from LSU with a textiles, apparel design and merchandising degree. Sadie said Rebecca gave her advice on entering the cut-throat fashion industry.
“She would tell people to just stick to your own thing,” Sadie said, “Even if everybody else doesn’t like it at first stick to what you like, because that’s like who you truly are.”
She said it’s about being yourself because if you don’t like it, it will show.
Along with Wild Blue, Sadie has multiple projects under her belt. She said she’s enjoying being able to work with Wild Blue and Roma Boots, but she also has a few small projects on the side. The “Duck Dynasty” star said she will also be in two upcoming movies.
“We’re also doing a ‘Live Original’ tour next year so that’s super exciting,” Sadie said.
She said the dates for her tour will be released in the upcoming year.
