All classes and events are still set to take place Monday as scheduled, though the LSU Emergency Operations Center is monitoring the rainstorm on across campus, said LSU Director of Media Relations Ernie Ballard Sunday night.

The National Weather Service issues a flood warning Sunday night around 7:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. for both West and East Baton Rouge Parish.

The NWS reported Baton Rouge experienced a record daily rainfall of 2.12 inches Saturday — a half inch more than the previous record of 1.42 inches set on Oct. 24, 1996.

Baton Rouge Police Department Spokesman Cpl. Don Coppola said most major commuter roadways are closed due to rising waters,
BRPD said the following roadways are closed: Burbank Road and Gourrier Lane, Bob Petit Boulevard Y A Tittle Avenue, State Street and Highland Road, Burbank Road and Nicholson Drive, and Alaska Street and Roosevelt Street.
