Along with the schedule releases of the other 13 league schools, the Southeastern Conference released the LSU football team’s 2016 schedule on Thursday evening.
Next year’s schedule revealed some recent trends the Tigers have adopted, including an open date prior to its Nov. 5 matchup with Alabama and beginning the SEC slate with Mississippi State and Auburn, respectively.
But, as previously announced, LSU will travel to Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers, for the first time ever to open the season with Wisconsin. The Tigers opened the 2014 schedule with a 28-24 win against the Badgers at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
LSU will also play Missouri for the first time in an SEC matchup since the fellow Tigers entered the league, and LSU will head to College Station, Texas, on Thanksgiving to play Texas A&M on the final game of regular season.
The holiday contest with the Aggies comes just five days after LSU close out its home slate with South Alabama on Nov. 19.
