Former U.S. Army All-American and four-star defensive tackle Travonte Valentine is transferring from the LSU football program, spokesman Michael Bonnette confirmed Wednesday morning.
Valentine, a redshirt freshman from Hialeah, Florida, is headed to Arizona Western College, joining former LSU defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao and linebacker Clifton Garrett. Lealaimatafao was removed from the team on June 29 after a simple battery and simple robbery arrest on June 19, which marked his second arrest while at LSU.
Valentine had been academically suspended by the team and did not participate in spring practice. He sat out his freshman season due to additional academic difficulties.
