After producing hits such as “Orange Is the New Black” and “House of Cards,” Netflix creates another thrilling storyline featuring richly developed characters in its six-part survival series, “Between.”
“Between” is set in Pretty Lake, a small town under government quarantine after a mysterious virus killed every citizen older than 22. It chronicles how the survivors struggle against each other and their isolation from the outside world.
Among the survivors is pregnant teenager Wiley, played by Nickelodeon star Jennette McCurdy. Although Wiley and her friend Adam (played by Jesse Carere) try to find a out of the quarantined zone, Wiley delivering her baby complicates the escape plans.
While the government contacts the residents of Pretty Lake occasionally, chaos ensues within the town as the power vacuum is filled by rich teenager Chuck (played by Justin Kelly) with mixed success.

The season finale, “War,” explores the depth of the characters by revealing their backstories through tough decisions about who and what to trust when the government send in agents with a “cure.”
Adam’s father (played by Rick Roberts) reveals a way out of town through an abandoned military tunnel and he worked on the development of the virus, which is incurable. He also tells Adam the government is sending soldiers to exterminate the population of Pretty Lake.
While Adam examines the tunnel, Pat (played by Jim Watson) is haunted by his hit-and-run of Chuck’s little sister, Amanda (played by Krystal Hope Nausbaum), and seeks out Chuck to tell him the truth.
Wiley steps between Pat and Chuck, revealing that she was in the car that night and her son is Chuck’s brother.
As Chuck prepares to shoot Pat to avenge his sister and end the bloodshed, a government message comes through announcing the creation of a cure and its immediate distribution at the prison.
Before everyone can go to the prison, Adam returns telling the group the cure is fake and they should fight. When armed soldiers try to force the group to comply, the group is convinced and hatches a plan to stop the disbursement of the cure.
In the prison, Adam reaches the control room and prepares to lock down to let the virus kill the soldiers, but is confronted by his father. After a struggle, Adam shoots his father right in time to end the injections.
“Between” is set to extend with second season on Netflix and will continue to be released on a weekly-basis like it was during the first season.
