Tyler Edwards – a LSU student and former LSU tight end – likely died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound Saturday night, said Monroe Police Department Detective Reggie Brown Monday.
Brown said Edwards’ father found his son’s body at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday on the 3600 block of Desiard Street.
Edwards’ body is currently in an autopsy lab in Little Rock, Arkansas– likely delivered there Sunday morning, Brown said.
Brown said the Arkansas lab will determine the official cause of death, and it takes roughly three to five days for the autopsy to be completed and the body returned.
