LSU freshman tight end Hanner Shipley transferred to Abilene Christian University after enrolling early at LSU and participating in spring drills, Abilene Christian University athletics confirmed via Twitter on Sunday.
The Meadowlakes, Texas, native signed with LSU as a consensus three-star tight end recruit, but he will play on the offensive line for the Wildcats.
At 6-feet-5-inches, 298 pounds, Shipley was expected to serve primarily as a blocking tight end for the Tigers.
Shipley leaves fellow freshman three-star recruit Foster Moreau as the sole remaining tight end recruit from the 2015 signing class.
