UPDATE 01/24/15: The Twitter account @CoachSteeleLSU has been deleted.
A Twitter account claiming to be new LSU defensive coordinator Kevin Steele has been interacting with at least one recruit and one current Tiger player through direct messages.
The school, through its official Twitter account and in a text message to The Daily Reveille, confirmed the account, with the handle @CoachSteeleLSU, was not Steele’s and said it was working to get the account deleted.
Defensive coordinator Kevin Steele is NOT on Twitter. Any account out there is fake and should be ignored while we work to get it removed.

Associate sports information director and coordinator of new and social media Jake Terry said this doesn’t hapen too often at LSU, and protocol calls for the school to submit the fake account to Twitter so that it can be deleted.
As of 2:45 p.m. Saturday, the account had 901 followers and had tweeted 26 times.
LSU junior safety Corey Thompson tweeted an interaction he had with the fake account alongside the school’s message.
