LSU senior Tori Bliss was named the NCAA Division I National Women’s Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association after her record-setting shot put performance Friday night at the LSU Indoor Invitational.
Bliss’ throw of 57 feet, 2 ¾ inches beat a 21-year LSU record of 55-10 ½ inches set by former NCAA discus champion Danyel Mitchell in 1994.
