An Olive Branch, Mississippi native, Collins was named to the coaches All-Southeastern Conference freshman team in 2012 after registering 30 tackles and intercepting two passes.
He rebounded from a subpar sophomore season to shine in 2014, notching 38 tackles, an interception and nine pass breakups while starting in place of the suspended Rashard Robinson.
Collins joins classmate Kwon Alexander as the Tiger defensive players who have declared for the NFL Draft. Decisions are still expected from defensive end Danielle Hunter, cornerback Jalen Mills and offensive lineman Vadal Alexander.
