A low shooting percentage in the second half hurt the LSU men’s basketball team’s attempt to stay undefeated in the PMAC as it fell to Texas A&M, 67-64, on Saturday morning.
The Tigers (13-4, 2-2 Southeastern Conference) led by as many as 13 points with 18:41 left in the second half, but the Aggies (11-5, 2-2 SEC) stormed back late to cut the lead to 62-61 with 4:26 to go. After a defensive struggle in the final four minutes, Aggie junior guard Danuel House drilled a jumper from the top of the key with 23 seconds to go to give the Aggies their first lead of the second half, 64-63.
LSU junior guard Josh Gray turned the ball over on the next possession, and House hit two free throws to give Texas A&M a three-point win.
Sophomore forward Jordan Mickey led LSU with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting to go with eight rebounds and tied his season-high with seven blocks. Sophomore forward Jarell Martin added 12 points with eight rebounds, and freshman guard Jalyn Patterson finished with 13 points off the bench.
House and Texas A&M’s junior guard Jalen Jones finished with 18 points apiece to give the Aggies their second win in SEC play.
