You don’t have to be a hardcore Kanye West fan to know he loves to make music about the women in his life.
On Thursday, the rapper started off the new year with the release of the song “Only One,” a collaborative effort with Beatles legend Paul McCartney. The soulful ballad, which features West singing and McCartney on the piano, serves as a love-letter from the rapper’s late mother to his daughter, North West.
West’s songs are rarely without some sort of emotion, but since he is often portrayed as being aggressive, “Only One” offers a new look into the rapper’s vulnerable side. This time from the perspective of a father.
The song is available on iTunes now.
