Five-star shooting guard and former Louisville commit Antonio Blakeney committed to LSU on Friday, giving the Tigers two five-star pledges for their 2015 class.
Blakeney and consensus No. 1 recruit Ben Simmons are the two prized jewels of LSU coach Johnny Jones’ 2015 haul, and Simmons tweeted his thoughts on his AAU teammate Blakeney’s decision just moments after he announced on ESPNU.

The 6-foot-3 Sarasota, Florida native chose the Tigers over Kentucky and Missouri. Yahoo Sports ranks him No. 13 in the nation while he sits at No. 14 in the ESPN 100.
On the ESPNU broadcast, Blakeney said his relationship with Simmons and his longstanding relationships with the LSU coaches were his impetus to come to Baton Rouge.
He did acknowledge LSU’s football-craziness, and pledged to be a part of a changing campus.
“It’s really a football school now, but they’re trying to change the culture,” Blakeney said. “That’s something I’d like to be a part of.”
