A British Indie rock band from London. The four formed group in 1999 after meeting at Readings, a festival in the south of the UK. Since then the band has released a number of EPs and singles, along with four albums. With a post-punk vibe, the band rose to fame in 2003 when their first two songs released were played on a Radio 1 show. The band were invited to a Radio 1 live lounge and their popularity soared from there on out. The singer, Kele Okereke, has also released a series of other songs and albums, which fall into a more alternative dance genre. They lost the drummer of the band members in 2013, Matt Tong, and have not released any more albums since, but Okereke has stated that Bloc Part are working on a fifth album. The fans can’t wait to see what is in store.
