The National Eating Disorders Association dedicated the week from Feb.26 to March 3 as the 25th annual National Eating Disorder Awareness Week.
The NEDA website says this year’s theme of “everybody knows somebody” reflects the statistic that four in 10 Americans directly know someone with an eating disorder.
The organization uses the week to raise support for those with the disorders and to raise awareness for their prevention, cures and care. And the awareness is getting higher.
The empire state building is lit in blue and green for National Eating Disorders Awareness week. If you are a member of the LSU community and would like to share your story as part of our NEDA series, contact us at [email protected].
