Though Google implemented sweeping changes to its privacy policy last week, changes to its Gmail service will not affect LSU Tigermail accounts.
Sherri Thompson, LSU IT Communications and Planning officer, said the University has a contract with Google that over-rules the new changes.
In addition, student emails are further protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
