The Jackets come in at 19-13 and on a three-game win streak after sweeping Boston College (16-9) at home in Atlanta, Ga.
“Georgia Tech is a very good team, so we need to continue working hard in practice,” said LSU junior pitcher Rachele Fico. “We need to carry over what we work on in practice into game play.”
Fico earned two wins in the Tigers’ (19-8, 4-1 Southeastern Conference) weekend sweep against SEC foe Mississippi State (17-12, 3-7 SEC), allowing just two earned runs in 13 innings or work.
“Especially coming off of the victories this weekend, I think everybody’s really excited to get this week going,” said LSU senior infielder Heidi Pizer.
The game will be the last of the Tigers’ 10-game homestand before it hits the road for a three game series against South Carolina (19-12, 2-6 SEC).
The road trip will be the Tigers’ first road SEC series this season after compiling a 4-1 record at home to start conference play.
“It’s a big week for us,” said LSU coach Beth Torina. “It’s another week where we have games where we’ll be able to compete very well in.”
