Michigan pitcher Matt Ogden was one pitch away, on two separate occasions, from escaping the seventh inning with a tied game intact.
But Ogden couldn’t get the final out he needed, walking batters both times, which led to a 6-4 victory for the No. 13 LSU (13-2) at Alex Box Stadium on Saturday.
After falling behind 0-2 in the count with two outs, senior shortstop Austin Nola worked his way to a full count and walked to load the bases. Senior third baseman Tyler Hanover followed that with another walk on a full count.
That base on balls brought in sophomore second baseman JaCoby Jones to give LSU a 4-3 lead.
