TOPS has redefined its definition of an academic year. Summer and summer intercession will now be covered under the award, according to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Student Aid.
The change is effective for this academic year. Students who have TOPS are required to earn 24 hours of credit each year.
Though the academic year now includes summer, TOPS will not pay for summer sessions automatically, according to a broadcast e-mail sent to students Friday. Students are encouraged to contact the University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Student Aid or the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance for further information.
