Stuart Bell will succeed Jack Hamilton as the University’s executive vice chancellor and provost, according to University Relations.
Bell currently serves as dean of the School of Engineering at the University of Kansas. His term at LSU will take effect Aug. 1, pending the Board of Supervisors’ approval.
“We are pleased to welcome Stuart Bell to LSU and feel that his vision and experience will continue the momentum of maintaining the academic standards, quality education and research that Louisiana has come to expect from its Flagship University,” Chancellor Michael Martin said in a campus-wide news release.
Bell topped Kevin Carman, dean of LSU’s College of Science; Robert Schnabel, Indiana University’s dean of the School of Informatics; Michael J. O’Brien, the University of MIssouri’s dean of the College of Arts and Science. Read more about the new provost in Friday’s edition of The Daily Reveille.
