Just one week after being introduced as LSU’s new men’s basketball coach, Johnny Jones has reeled in his first signing.
Jones secured a letter of intent from former Thibodaux High School star Shavon Coleman Monday afternoon, according to reports. ESPN’s Gary Laney first reported the signing.
After high school, Coleman spent two years at Howard College, a junior college in Texas.
Coleman will be eligible to play immediately for LSU.
Listed at 6-foot-6 and 195 pounds while at Howard College, Coleman will give LSU some much-needed size after the departures of 7-foot center Justin Hamilton and 6’7″ Storm Warren.
Coleman also considered Oklahoma and Texas Tech in his recruitment.
