My Morning Jacket spent the last decade shooting out a variety of hit albums. All of these, while uniquely distinctive, helped form the band’s current identity as blowout festival performing rockers tinged in folk, psychedelic and experimental influences.
Several of the band’s albums have seen much acclaim with their most recent, “Circuital,” selling 55,000 units in its first week, placing 11th in Rolling Stone’s “Top 50 Albums of 2011” and debuting at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. But as far as many fans are concerned, the hits of “Circuital” are just more potentially mind-blowing performances for the band to rock at a festival.
All of the bands talents – from Jim James’ sweeping angelic shouts and howls to Carl Broemel’s unending guitar shredding – are something festivalgoers can expect to provide an incredible experience.
