Grade: B
Relative to the team’s high expectations, the regular season was slightly disappointing for head coach Richard Sykes and the men’s team. In the fall, senior Mark McMillen picked up his first-ever individual title and All-American sophomore Albin Choi found his third collegiate win. The absence of All-American junior Mitch Sutton certainly hurt the team – especially early on in the season – but did allow for younger talent to gain valuable tournament experience. The Pack started the spring semester with two dead last place finishes, but did claim second and first place in the River Landing tournament and Wolfpack Spring Open, respectively. Although the loss of senior leadership hurts the team moving forward, Choi and Sutton should have plenty of depth behind them to be the horses in 2012-2013.
