BENTON, La. (AP) — Authorities are looking for an east Texas man missing since a boating crash at the Red River Marina in south Bossier Parish.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Bill Davis says the missing man is 63-year-old Dan Stanley of Bivins, Texas. He says Stanley’s cousin, 64-year-old Jerry Smith, of Bivins, was found on a rock jetty Wednesday afternoon, suffering from a head injury and hypothermia, with his wrecked boat nearby.
The LSU hospital in Shreveport says Smith is in fair condition.
Davis says a Bossier City Fire Department K-9 team joined the search for Stanley on Thursday. Crews from the state Wildlife and Fisheries Department, the Caddo and Bossier sheriff’s offices, and South Bossier and Bienville Parish fire departments searched for him Wednesday and Thursday.
