SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — Neighbors of Calumet Shreveport Lubricants and Waxest had a late-morning scare Thursday.
Several told KTBS-TV that they heard a loud noise and felt the ground shake after a boiler failed at the facility.
Company officials say after completing maintenance work on a boiler, staff tried to restart the device and, as a result, the boiler blew. There were no injuries or hazardous materials released and the incident did not impact the plant’s daily processes.
An investigation into the cause of this incident is currently underway.
