The LSU women’s golf team finds itself in a tropical paradise to begin its spring campaign in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
The tournament features a number of impressive competitors, including Purdue, who is hosting the tournament, and Southeastern Conference rivals Arkansas and Georgia.
Since returning to campus after winter break, the team has practiced at a more urgent pace, LSU coach Karen Bahnsen said. This tournament marks the earliest spring start for the women’s team in more than four years.
Bahnsen said the short transition from the lazy winter months has shifted her focus to getting the squad back into competitive form as quickly as possible.
